의를 구하는 자에게 건강을 더해 주시는 하나님 ㅡ

의를 구하는 자에게 건강을 더해 주시는 하나님 ㅡ “그러므로 생명을 사랑하고 좋은 날 보기를 원하는 자는 혀를 금하여 악한 말을 그치며 그 입술로 거짓을 말하지 말고 악에서 떠나 선을 행하고 화평을 구하며 그것을 따르라”(벧전 3:10-11) 경건과 의는 건강을 망가뜨리는 것이 아니고, 육체에 건강이 되고, 심령에 힘이 된다. 의를 행하고 있다는 자각은 병든 육체와 마음에 최선의 약이 된다. 받는 자에게 주어지는 하나님의 특별한 축복은 건강과 힘이 된다. 마음이 하나님 안에서 안정되고 만족을 얻는 사람은 건강의 길을 걷게 된다. 그리스도의 말씀은 온 세계에 있는 모든 의사들의 의견보다 더 큰 가치가 있다. “너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라”(마 6:33) 하늘 나라와 그리스도의 의, 이것이 첫째 되는 큰 목적이다. 얻어야 할 다른 목적들은 그것들에 대하여 이차적인 것이어야 한다. God Adds Health to Those Who Seek His Righteousness ㅡ  “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:  Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.”  (1 Peter 3:10, 11) Godliness and righteousness are not destructive to health, but are health to the body and strength to the soul. The consciousness of rightdoing is the best medicine for diseased bodies and minds. The special blessing of God resting upon the receiver is health and strength. A person whose mind is quiet and satisfied in God is in the pathway to health. The words of Christ are of more worth than the opinions of all the physicians in the universe: “Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33). This is the first great object—the kingdom of heaven, the righteousness of Christ. Other objects to be attained should be secondary to these.  (Testimonies for the Church Volume 1 502)
