🌻생명의 향기 | 그대들의 운명을 선택함🌻

자신의 운명을 결정하는 사람은 바로 자기 자신임을 모든 사람이 인식할 수 있다면 얼마나 좋을까! 이생에서의 그대들의 행복과 내세의 영생은 그대 자신에게 달려 있다.

그대들은, 그대들의 사상과 말과 도덕을 천박하게 만드는 영향을 끼치는 친구를 선택할 수도 있다. 또한 그대들은 식욕이나 정욕을 억제하지 않고, 권위를 경홀히 여기고, 야비한 말을 사용하며, 가장 비천한 수준으로 타락할 수도 있다.

그대들은 다른 사람에게 해독을 끼치는 감화를 발휘할 수도 있다. 그대들은 그리스도에게 인도될 수 있었을 사람들을 멸망시키는 장본인이 될 수도 있다. 그대들은 그리스도와 의와 거룩함과 하늘에서 다른 사람을 돌이키게 할 수도 있다.

그리하여 심판 날에 잃어버린 바된 자들이 그대를 가리키며, “저 사람의 영향을 받지 아니하였더라면 나는 실패하지 아니하였을 것이요, 신앙을 조롱하지도 않았을 것이다. 저 사람은 빛을 가졌었고 하늘 가는 길을 알고 있었다. 나는 무지하였으므로 맹목적으로 멸망으로 달음질쳤다”고 말할 것이다. 이러한 비난에 우리가 무슨 답변을 할 수 있을까?

각 사람마다 자신이 다른 사람을 어디로 인도하고 있는지 깊이 생각하는 것은 얼마나 중요한가! 우리는 영원한 세상이 보이는 곳에 있다. 그러므로 우리가 다른 사람에게 끼치는 감화력의 가치를 얼마나 자세하게 계산해야 할 것인가!

우리는 영생에 관한 문제를 우리의 계산에서 빼지 말고, 이 일이 과연 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 것일까? 무엇이 옳은 것인지에 대하여 나보다 빛과 증거를 훨씬 적게 받은 사람들의 마음에 나의 행동은 어떠한 감화를 끼칠 것인가? 하고 항상 자문하는 습관을 가져야 한다.

🌻Aroma of Life I Choosing Your Destiny🌻

O that every one might realize that he is the arbiter of his own destiny! Your happiness for this life, and for the future, immortal life lies with yourself.

If you choose, you may have associates who, by their influence, will cheapen your thoughts, your words, and your morals. You can give loose rein to appetite and passion, despise authority, use coarse language, and degrade yourself to the lowest level.

Your influence may be such as to contaminate others, and you may be the cause of ruining those whom you might have brought to Christ. You may lead from Christ, from right, from holiness, and from heaven.

In the judgment the lost may point to you and say, “If it had not been for his influence, I would not have stumbled and made a mock of religion. He had light, he knew the way to heaven. I was ignorant, and went blindfolded on my way to destruction.” O, what answer can we give to such a charge?

How important it is that every one shall consider where he is leading souls. We are in view of the eternal world, and how diligently we should count the cost of our influence.

We should not drop eternity out of our reckoning, but accustom ourselves to ask continually, Will this course be pleasing to God? What will be the influence of my action upon the minds of those who have had much less light and evidence as to what is right?
