🌻 생명의 향기 • 다른 사람들에게 우리의 감화력을 결정해 주는 것은 우리 자신의 품성과 경험이다 🌻 순결하고 진실한 그리스도인의 조용하고, 언행이 일치되는 생애에는 유창한 말보다 더욱 강력한 웅변이 있다. 사람의 인격은 그의 말보다 더욱 많은 감화력을 가지고 있다.... 다른 사람들에게 우리의 감화력을 결정해 주는 것은 우리 자신의 품성과 경험이다. 우리가 다른 사람들에게 그리스도의 은혜의 능력을 확신시켜 주려면 우리는 그 능력을 우리 자신의 마음과 생애에서 알아야 한다.  우리가 사람들을 구원하기 위하여 증거하는 복음은 우리 자신의 영혼을 구원해 준 복음이어야 한다. 오직 그리스도를 개인의 구주로 믿는 산 믿음을 통해서만 우리의 감화력을 불신의 세계가 느낄 수 있게 할 수 있다.  우리가 급히 흐르는 물결 속에서 죄인들을 건져 내려면, 우리 자신의 발이 만세 반석되신 예수 그리스도께 굳게 고정되어 있어야 한다. 그리스도의 휘장은 겉으로 보여 주는 표지가 아니며, 십자가나 면류관을 달고 다니는 것이 아니다. 그것은 사람이 하나님과 연합함으로 나타내 주는 것이다.  성품의 변화에 나타난 하나님의 은혜의 능력을 통하여 세상은 하나님께서 그분의 아들을 세상의 구속주로 보내셨다는 사실을 확신하게 된다.  인간의 심령을 감싸 줄 수 있는 어떤 감화력도 이타적인 생애의 감화력과 같은 그런 능력을 가질 수 없다. 복음을 위한 가장 강력한 논증은 상냥하고 친절한 그리스도인이다.  - 치료봉사, 469-470.

🌻 Aroma of Life • It Is Our Own Character and Experience That Determine Our Influence Upon Others 🌻 There is an eloquence far more powerful than the eloquence of words in the quiet, consistent life of a pure, true Christian. What a man is has more influence than what he says.... It is our own character and experience that determine our influence upon others. In order to convince others of the power of Christ’s grace, we must know its power in our own hearts and lives.  The gospel we present for the saving of souls must be the gospel by which our own souls are saved. Only through a living faith in Christ as a personal Saviour is it possible to make our influence felt in a skeptical world.  If we would draw sinners out of the swift-running current, our own feet must be firmly set upon the Rock, Christ Jesus. The badge of Christianity is not an outward sign, not the wearing of a cross or a crown, but it is that which reveals the union of man with God.  By the power of His grace manifested in the transformation of character the world is to be convinced that God has sent His Son as its Redeemer.  No other influence that can surround the human soul has such power as the influence of an unselfish life.
