🌻생명의 향기 | 예수님을 절친한 친구로 삼으라 🌻 귀중한 기도의 특권을 올바르게 이해하거나 이용하는 사람들은 별로 없다. 우리는 예수님께 나아가 우리의 모든 필요를 그분께 아뢰야 한다. 우리는 큰 문제들은 물론이요 사소한 걱정과 번거러운 것들도 그분께 가져 갈 수 있다. 우리를 번거롭게 하거나 괴롭히는 것은 무엇이나 기도로써 주님께 가져 가야 한다. 우리가 매 발걸음마다 그리스도의 임재의 필요를 느끼게 될 때, 사탄은 유혹할 기회를 거의 갖지 못하게 될 것이다. 우리의 가장 선량하고 동정 깊은 친구로부터 우리를 떠나가게 하는 것이 사탄의 계획적인 노력이다. 우리는 예수님 외에는 아무도 우리의 절친한 친구로 삼지 말아야 한다. 우리는 마음속에 있는 모든 것을 마음놓고 그분께 털어놓을 수 있다. .... 예수님을 바라보고, 비할 데 없는 그분의 사랑에 대하여 이야기하라. 그분을 바라봄으로써 그대들은 그분의 형상으로 변화될 것이다. 기도할 때는 간단하게 요점을 들어 하라. .... 마치 굶주린 아이가 육신의 아버지께 음식을 구하듯이 생명의 양식을 구하라. 우리가 단순하게 그리고 믿음으로 하나님께 구하면, 그분께서는 필요한 모든 축복을 주실 것이다..... 기도는 가장 거룩한 영혼의 훈련이다. 그것은 진지하고 겸손하고 열렬해야 한다. 곧, 새롭게 변화된 마음의 욕망을 거룩하신 하나님 앞에 토로하는 것이어야 한다. 간구하는 자가 하나님 앞에 있다는 것을 느낄 때 자아는 잊어버린 바 될 것이다. 그는 인간적인 재능을 나타내고자 하는 욕망을 갖지 않게 될 것이다. 그는 사람들의 귀를 즐겁게 하고자 하지 않고 심령이 갈급하는 축복을 얻고자 할 것이다. 만일, 우리가 오로지 주님의 말씀대로 그분을 대할 것 같으면, 참으로 많은 축복을 받게 될 것이다. 더욱 열렬하고 효능 있는 기도가 있었으면 좋겠다. 그리스도는 믿음으로 당신을 찾는 모든 사람을 도우시는 분이 될 것이다. ─ 증언보감 2권, 60-61.

🌻Aroma of Life I Make Jesus Your Confidant 🌻 There are few who rightly appreciate or improve the precious privilege of prayer. We should go to Jesus and tell Him all our needs. We may bring Him our little cares and perplexities as well as our greater troubles. Whatever arises to disturb or distress us, we should take it to the Lord in prayer. When we feel that we need the presence of Christ at every step, Satan will have little opportunity to intrude his temptations. It is his studied effort to keep us away from our best and most sympathizing friend. We should make no one our confidant but Jesus. We can safely commune with Him of all that is in our hearts. .... Turn the eye away from self; look unto Jesus, talk of His matchless love. By beholding Him you will become changed into His likeness. When you pray, be brief, come right to the point... Ask for the bread of life as a hungry child asks bread of his earthly father. God will bestow upon us every needed blessing if we ask Him in simplicity and faith..... Prayer is the most holy exercise of the soul. It should be sincere, humble, earnest—the desires of a renewed heart breathed in the presence of a holy God. When the suppliant feels that he is in the divine presence, self will be forgotten. He will have no desire to display human talent; he will not seek to please the ear of men, but to obtain the blessing which the soul craves. If we would only take the Lord at His word, what blessings might be ours! Would that there were more fervent, effectual prayer.
